4X  SPARKLE HT

HEAT DISSIPATING SILICONE  MOLD  RUBBER

ABOUT 4X SPARKLE HT™

4X Sparkle HT Silicone Mold Rubber is an economical silicone rubber developed to dissipate heat rapidly to speed up cooling of injected waxes. In addition, Sparkle HT has very  high tear strength and is available in two hardness grades; 40 Shore A for general jewelry molds and 55 Shore A for large molds and flat work such as belt buckles. The first few waxes may pick up sparkle flakes, but the pattern will clear up within a few shots of wax.

As an option, you can wrap the model in a thin layer of any other Zero-D silicone to ensure a perfect finish. This layer must be as thin as possible so that the heat dissipation quality is not reduced appreciably. If you wrap in a low temperature cure such as 4X ZeroShrink, you must cure at 350ºF (177°C)

MAKING THE MOLD:

1)  Cut enough rubber to fill the mold frame to about 1/2 to 2/3 full.

2)  Push model into rubber to proper position and then cover with additional rubber. Work in with your fingers or a blunt tool. Be sure to over pack the frame slightly.

3)  Place mold frame in vulcanizer pre-heated to 350ºF (177ºC ) Vulcanize 15 minutes per 1/4” (6.35mm) of thickness. A 3/4” (19mm)  frame requires 45 minutes.

4)  If you are making a powder separation mold, take care to face the model with the smooth side of rubber so that diamond pattern does not transfer to the mold pattern.

Release agent is not required.
